Notice About Using Our Processor
You can trial our system by processing your PDF and view your finished product "before Activation" and still check links or just see the outcome. However, once you click "Activate", you will receive final code and be charged if you have an account. If you not have an account, you will be expected to "pay by PayPal" by going to MCG (mcgdata.com) and click on purchase and make payment of total number of pages times $2.00 per page (minimum processing fee $35.00).
You can also click here to go to our purchase page. Activated pages that are not paid at time of processing or where arrangements have not been made with MCG will be deleted.

PDF General Pre-Processing Information
PDF Requirements:
- Locked PDF's can not be converted!
- The colours in the PDF must be RBG.
- Optimize your PDF to 150dpi. This will reduce file size and improve performance.
- Embed fonts and Images.
- Convert gradients or drawing nodes to "simple or smooth"
- Optimize and Flatten Transparencies and Layers This is a very important part of the PDF conversion to make ready for NewsReader Online. If this step is not taken images may appear blue or green when printed or may print only a partial page, text only or nothing, depending what is on a layer. If layers are not flattened, NRO will randomly select any layer to print.
- If you do not see one or more of the above features in your Acrobat Distiller version it might be necessary to save as an earlier version of Acrobat say 5 or 6 that does have these features.
- Quite often your PDF can be configured directly from your pagination software like InDesign or Quark etc to the specs above. The output type can be saved so that it will be easier to use the next time.
- If you simply have a traditional generated print PDF, not to worry, simply open this PDF in Acrobat and reprint under the conditions shown above.
Important: When you have processed or reprocessed your files to our specs above, please check the size of your PDF BEFORE uploading the file. If you have processed as above and your PDF does not have hidden surprises (ie improper sized ads from an outside source), your file size should be 1Mb or smaller per page. Simply, if you are uploading a 60 page file, the file should be 60 Mb or less.
If your files are more than 1Mb per page do not upload as the FlipBook will be slow and we will have to charge you for excessive bandwidth usage. (As an example we have received 300Mb files uploaded for a 24 page publication. This is typical of a "Print PDF" that has not been resized for online usage using the above parameters. We do not charge for reasonable bandwidth use, but above the 1Mb per page, means we have to pay based on the rate we are charged.
Options for Processing PDF's
Used Most Frequently
- Process directly from the PDF located on your computer (for small to large files from a good Internet connection)
Used for Very Large Files or Slow Connection:
- Upload your PDF directly to our FTP site and process your PDF from there. That way you would be processing your PDF from our location using the software on our location (for processing large files or from an unstable connection).
The Processing Procedure
1. Go to the FlipBook processing form
2. Enter your email address (this email address will also be your user ID)
3. Enter the publication title
4. For Option 1 above, click on PDF to Convert and choose PDF on your computer that you have already setup to the above parameters.
5. For Option 2 above, upload your PDF file to our FTP site listed on the upload page. Use FTP software and for large files start upload and let this process take its time. Approx rate of upload average 1 Gig per hour, so you can figure for your file size what time it will take. Once uploaded, then you can process the file now residing on our FTP site from your computer and then get your link code. Simply type in the exact name of your PDF file into FTP'ed Filename and then click Start Conversion and wait until done processing. When done it will provide your code and give you the opportunity to check your FlipBook, change your background and ensure your links are working, before you Activate.
After Processing Your PDF file, you can now:
1. Check your FlipBook before final Activation
2. Change background colour or image using our graphics or your own
3. Ensure links are working properly
4. When you are happy with the above, you can then Activate your FlipBook. Remember, when you Activate your FlipBook, an invoice will automatically be generated.
Your Activation Code
You will be returned with an activation code directly after Activating and in an email. You will also be able to "login" and review all your processed files using your email user ID and your assigned numeric password.
Two Ways of Using the Activation Code
1. The general code that is supplied will provide the link and a thumbnail of the front cover. This code would be copied into the area on the web page where you want the thumbnail to appear.
2. A part of the above code can be cut out and this will be a direct link or you can link this to your own thumbnail.
Here's What Your Activation Code Looks Like:
<A HREF="javascript:void();" onClick="javascript:window.open('http://flip100.net/scripts/showbook.asp?ID=10000057_680081', 'flipbook', 'toolbar=0,scrollbars=1,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=1,width=850,height=600,left = 10,top = 10');"><IMG SRC=http://flip100.net/scripts/getthumb.asp?ID=10000057_680081 border=0></a>
The Partial Code from the above:
